WEEK 1- 24th to
28th of December
Barb was celebrating her
birthday today. She was turning seven years old. All her friends were coming. Her relatives were also coming. She
was going to see her cousins, uncles, and aunts. Even her
neighbor was coming. Her parents got her cake with a horse on it. Horses were
her favorite animal. Her dad spent all day decorating their house. There
were balloons, banners, and streamers. She was so happy when she saw the
decorations and everyone. This was her best birthday ever. She had a jump
rope and her friends to play with. She also had party gifts. Barb got a lot
of presents. She thanked everyone for coming. She hugged her parents.

WEEK 2 - 7th to 11th of January
Donna decided to buy her two daughters water bottles.
They were going to school soon. She bought a pink one and a blue one.
She drove back home. "Girls! I have something for you!" her
mom yelled. Sarah and Barbara ran to her. "What is it?" Sarah asked.
She showed them the water bottles. They both grabbed the pink one. They
started pulling it. "I grabbed it first!" Barbara said. "No, I
did!" Sarah argued. The mom did not know what to do. She thought
one of them would like the blue one. She could just flip a coin. One of them
would still be mad. Donna decided not to give the water bottle to any of
them.

About Camila
Hi, My name’s Camila and I’m Patagonia
in Argentina. Do you know where that is? It is in South America. I live with my
family – my mum, dad and my two brothers in a nice house in the country.
During the week I get
up at 8am. I have breakfast and then I get dressed. I go to local school
which is five minutes from house. I usually cycle to school with my
brothers, but in the winter we always walk because there is a lot of snow.
After school. I do my homework and then I help my dad to feed our
animals. If I have time, I help my mum and dad cook the dinner. I love
cooking, especially cakes.
My family and I do a
lot of outdoor activities. I like trekking and I play tennis too. I’m
quite good at it! My brothers and dad fish every Sunday at a nearby
lake. Mum likes gardening to playing sports and she wants to start yoga classes
in the autumn. That’s all about me!

Camels
Camels live in the dessert of Africa, Asia,
and Australia. They carry people and things across the dessert.
Before travelling across the dessert, a camel eats a lot of food and drinks
a lot of water. The food is stored as fat in the hump on the
camel’s back.
When the
camel crosses the dessert, it uses the fat in its hump as food and water. A
camel can live for a week without drinking water! At the beginning
of the trip, the camel’s hump is big and fat. At the end of the
trip. Its hump is much smaller.
